Maurizio Sarri has insisted Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich still cares for the club.
The Russian billionaire has changed the fortunes of the club single handedly since he took over the West London club in 2003. They have had enormous success in the past few years but things have gone all wrong in recent times.
The 52 year old recently has been granted Israeli citizenship which means he can’t visit the UK pretty frequently. The Businessman has not watched any Chelsea match from the stands since May 2018 and also didn’t feel the urge to pay for a Corporate Box at the Stamford Bridge.
The Iconic stadium was also supposed to get a makeover but as things stand Abramovich is unwilling to infuse funds to the club. But Chelsea manager has refuted all the claims and has claimed the owner is still very much one of them.
“He has some problems now, but he is involved with the club, with the team.
“He is the owner, and so he is able to influence the technical staff, the club, the players, everything I think.
“Also in Naples, the president Aurelio De Laurentiis wasn’t in the training ground every day. He was in the training ground once a month, no more. So it’s really very similar.”
