Mason Mount could be seen hobbling around with heavy strapping on his right ankle.
Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount suffered ankle ligament damage when he was participating in the FIFA Club World Cup final against Palmeiras last night.
The 23-year-old was asked to leave the pitch just 31 minutes into the CWC final. Christian Pulisic replaced him and later, the Blues secured a victory in a tough game.
The Blues midfielder left the stadium on crutches and is now set to undergo scans when returning to home on Sunday.
Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel said: “Mason told me the ankle was still, painful and didn’t feel good.
“An opponent fell on his ankle and he hurt his ligaments badly.”
The player could be seen hobbling around with heavy strapping on his right ankle during the celebration. Chelsea will be back to London and they have some important fixtures this month including UEFA Champions League.
