Mason Mount’s contract only runs until the end of next season.

The 24-year-old has little over 12 months left on his Blues contract and the Blues are demanding £60million for the prized midfielder.

Mount has undergone surgery and is expected to be available days before the end of the current campaign.

There has been no positive update on the contract situation and Mount is inching closer towards an exit from his boyhood club.

Liverpool are thought to be the frontrunners in luring the midfielder away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Relationship between the player’s representatives and the club are at an all-time low and new manager Mauricio Pochettino will need a miracle to persuade the player to stay.

“It feels like it is too late now for Mason. Pochettino is good but he can’t work miracles,” a Chelsea source told the publication.

“If he had been brought in when Chelsea sacked Thomas Tuchel in September then maybe it would be a different story. But in ten months there hasn’t been any resolution and other clubs want him. Good luck to Poch and Mason but we’re not hopeful.”
