Lamine Yamal has expressed his expectation that Barcelona will sign Nico Williams this summer on several occasions in the past several weeks. The 21-year-old has been heavily linked to a move to Catalonia, but Premier League teams are also reportedly interested in him, Chelsea being one of them.

Marc Cucurella has disclosed that during Euro 2024, he has been attempting to persuade Nico Williams, a teammate from Spain, to choose Chelsea over Barcelona. The 21-year-old, who has a £46.5 million release clause, has scored in Spain’s victory against Georgia in the round of 16 and has started three of their four games in Germany. The defender for Spain, Cucurella, says he thinks Williams would be a “great signing” for Barcelona, but he also says he wishes to move to Chelsea, who are also interested in a summer transfer.

“Please join Chelsea” Cucurella begs Spanish teammate

Cucurella gave a complimentary interview about his countryman to the media prior to their quarterfinal matchup with Germany, the host team, at the European Championship. The wiry-haired winger has made an effort to persuade the younger Williams brother to play with him at Chelsea.

According to Football Espana, Cucurella stated, “He would be a great signing (for Barcelona), but it all depends on what he wants.” “I’ve been advising him to join Chelsea. Everything ultimately rests on him. Despite his youth, he has a great deal of experience. I believe he will be an excellent player.
