If Cucurella wants to play for Barcelona, he might well start stitching performances in at Chelsea first anyway.
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella has expressed his desire to play for Barcelona.
While talking on Catalunya Radio (h/t Metro), the Blues defender Marc Cucurella has expressed his desire and says he would love to play for Barcelona one day.
The former Brighton player arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer for a whopping fee of £63m. He has yet to settle into new surroundings.
The 24-year-old is a product of the Barcelona academy before he moved to Getafe, followed by a switch to Brighton in August 2021.
Here’s what he said regarding his desire to return to Barcelona one day (h/t Metro):
“I didn’t get the chance to really play for Barcelona and I’ve always been gutted about that. In the end, if I had the chance in future, I would value it, it would be very nice.”
If the 24-year-old wants to play for Barcelona, he might well start stitching performances in at Chelsea first anyway. He is working under a manager Graham Potter who brought him to England in the first place. So, the comfort of understanding what the boss wants from him must be there.
Graham Potter and Cucurella would be hoping to start well when the league season resumes on 27th December with a game against Bournemouth. We could do by seeing more of the Spaniard first before getting angry at his Barcelona comments.
