According to reports, Chelsea is willing to trade the Senegalese striker, and Manchester United has added Nicolas Jackson to their shortlist of strikers.
According to French journalist Nabil Djellit, a number of English clubs have inquired about the 24-year-old, including United. Since Joao Pedro and Liam Delap joined Enzo Maresca’s team, he seemed to have lost his starting position.
Following Ruben Amorim’s failure to sign Delap and Viktor Gyokeres, who is keen to join Arsenal, Jackson is the most recent number nine to surface as a possible target for the Red Devils. After being sent off in the Blues’ lone loss in their FIFA Club World Cup campaign, the Senegal international’s future at Stamford Bridge is in question.
Since moving to Chelsea for £30 million from Villarreal in July 2023, Jackson has had a wild ride. That same summer, United made a move for Rasmus Hojlund, and the forwards’ performances in the Premier League have since been contrasted.
Man Utd in contact for £60m Chelsea striker
Jackson worries that he has lost his spot in Enzo Maresca’s starting lineup as a result of the summer transfer window acquisitions of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro, according to The Daily Mail. Jackson is reportedly valued at £100 million by Chelsea, while AC Milan is also interested in the striker.
He still needs to serve a ban in the opening match of the 2025–26 season after receiving a red card in the match against Newcastle United near the close of the previous campaign, though, and his lack of discipline has placed doubt on his Chelsea career.
Given the club’s finances and the possible necessity for a new goalkeeper, Chelsea’s asking price of €70 million (£60 million) may prove problematic. The Cameroonian goalie, Andre Onana, will miss preseason due to a hamstring issue.
Peter Crouch has called Jackson unbelievable because of his versatility, which includes his ability to lead the line and play out wide. Jackson scored ten goals in the Premier League last season. The Blues’ hiring practices raise the possibility that he won’t have many first-team opportunities despite signing a two-year contract extension in September that expires in 2033.
