James Maddison has praised the impact of Joe Cole in his career.
Speaking ahead of Leicester’s win over Spurs, Maddison told BT Sport: ‘Coley came in at Coventry when I was a young lad coming through there and we had some good times. ‘I always say that [picked up a lot] whenever I get asked about Coley.
‘Coley came in and straight away he had to get fit for a little bit. ‘I had a little knock that I was recovering from and we actually spent a lot of time together on and off the pitch because obviously you finish sessions at different times. ‘I tried to pick his brain a little bit… without sounding like a little fanboy! He was a top man with me.’
Maddison appeared confident of Leicester’s ambition as well about this season.
‘That’s what Leicester City are all about, showing grit and determination against these top sides because we are a top side now,’ Maddison said after Leicester came from behind to beat Tottenham. ‘I think we have to be seen as one of the top sides now and nobody is going to want to come to this place when it’s like this.
