Former Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses has joined Luton Town. After leaving Russian team Spartak Moscow earlier in the summer, the 33-year-old former Nigerian international signs a free agency contract with the Championship club. After originally joining Spartak on loan from Chelsea in 2020, he was a member of the team for nearly four years.
Moses, who joined Wigan Athletic in the Premier League in 2010 after beginning his career with Crystal Palace, played for Luton in a private match last week. Manager of Luton Rob Edwards stated on the club website, “We think he’s someone who can provide some really good competition for us.”
After being demoted from the Premier League in May, Luton has only collected one point from their four Championship games this year. On Saturday, they play their first away game following the international break at Millwall. The duration of Moses’ contract has not been made public.

“I’m excited about it. Despite receiving several offers from Europe, I told my agent that I was determined to stay here, and thus we are. Moses released a statement saying, “I’m really happy and honoured to be at this club, and I just can’t wait to get going.”
Prior to joining Chelsea in the summer of 2012, he made his Premier League debut in January 2010 after moving to Wigan Athletic, where he scored nine goals in 80 games.
Moses was a member of the team that won the Europa League in 2012–13, but he played for Chelsea on loan for the majority of his nine years, during which he played for West Ham, Stoke, Fenerbahce, and European powerhouses Liverpool and Inter Milan in addition to domestic teams.
