Liverpool are planning to launch a shock bid for Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger.
The German defender has had a below-average year at the Bridge. Signed by Antonio Conte the year after Chelsea won the Premier League, Rudiger has been an important part of the Blues defence ever since.
However, the promising signs of development he showed in the past two seasons were not seen this time around as he committed numerous uncharacteristic mistakes which cost the club rather heavily.
Chelsea are looking to make numerous upgrades to their defence this season and it has been reported that three Chelsea centre-backs – Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Kurt Zouma has been put on sale by the club.
Latest reports are adding that Liverpool are now interested in signing the German centre back and want him to replace the departing Dejan Lovren in their team.
Rudiger would certainly be an attractive addition for the Reds who are otherwise more than brilliant in their defence but Chelsea will have to play their cards carefully here so as to not lose another promising player to a rival club like they did with De Bruyne and Salah.
