Liam Rosenior believes Chelsea can still turn their campaign into a major success after watching his side crush Port Vale 7-0 to book an FA Cup Semi-Final spot at Wembley.

Rosenior Backs Chelsea for an “Outstanding Season” After 7-0 FA Cup Rout

The Blues delivered a ruthless attacking display on home turf, tearing apart the League One relegation battlers from the first whistle to the final moments of added time.

Jorrel Hato opened the scoring within seconds. João Pedro, Tosin Adarabioyo, Andrey Santos, Estevao and Alejandro Garnacho all found the net before a Port Vale own goal completed the demolition job.

Reflecting on the performance, Rosenior said on Chelsea official website: “I was very happy with the application and intensity levels from the team.”

He then looked ahead to the bigger picture. “It’s been a really important week for my staff and the club.

When we go through a difficult period like we did, you come out of it stronger. I think we can still have an outstanding season.”

The head coach also shared his excitement about reaching Wembley.

“It’s what you dream of. I’m the head coach of a huge club where it’s deemed normal for us to be in that situation.”

Rosenior addressed Cole Palmer’s role as captain. “It’s a natural step for Cole and where he is in his career. Cole is so brave.

He’ll take the ball on the pitch, and if he makes a mistake, he’ll take it again. That’s what I want.”

The Englishman also celebrated another academy graduate making his first-team appearance.

“I’m so happy for Ryan Kavuma-McQueen. I had the pleasure of watching him in the FA Youth Cup maybe six weeks ago. It was a fantastic moment for our Academy.”

Chelsea now head to Wembley with growing momentum, and Rosenior’s belief in an “outstanding season” will face its next true test in the Semi-Final.
