Lazio Interested In Signing Kepa Arrizabalaga

Chelsea could finally get rid of Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer.

According to reports, Lazio has emerged as a potential way out for the Spaniard.

Since his arrival on a record deal worth £71.2m, Kepa has not been able to meet the Chelsea standards. Instead, he came at odds with managers and made numerous mistakes that cost Chelsea dearly. It was because of his shortcomings that Frank Lampard ventured out to get Edouard Mendy.

It hardly makes any sense to keep such an expensive goalkeeper as simply their backup option. Chelsea will be looking at suitors to take on the Spaniard and his giant contract. An initial loan move to Lazio seems likely since they will hardly be able to meet Chelsea’s valuation.

Thomas Tuchel did start Kepa in the FA Cup final defeat to Leicester City. The Spaniard also maned the goal line in the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the previous tie. Unless, there is a clear upshift in performances from now and until the end of the season, Kepa is likely to be moved on.

Thiago Silva wanted Chelsea to bounce back after the FA Cup defeat. He posted on Twitter, “Overcoming is necessary, moving forward is essential.

“Together, we will overcome the obstacles, improve whatever it takes, and follow through with our goal as a team. Let’s go, Chelsea FC!”
