Chelsea boss Frank Lampard’s boundless appreciation for Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi is to be pondered over.

Callum was really good, he had product on the wing, taking people on,’ Lampard told chelseafc.com.

‘He looked sharp, getting at people and was a big threat, and I am really pleased with that.

‘The end product will come even more with Callum. He was giving Newcastle a big problem and he needs to carry on doing that.’

Callum Hudson-Odoi’s ankle injury from last season has not affected the player’s performance in this season at all. He has already added three assists in three matches this season.

The 18 year old winger, born and brought up in London was in magnificent form against Newcastle and was a nightmare for the defenders. He was electrifying on the flanks and left the defenders bewildered by his speed and dribbling.

The youngster was approached by German champions Bayern Munich last season with a handsome fee for the young winger. However, Hudson-Odoi proved his loyalty to the club by turning down a lucrative, international transfer and staying with the Blues.

Chelsea will be hoping there is a lot more to come from Hudson-Odoi. He is only 18 after all.
