Lampard not underestimating wounded City

Frank Lampard has hailed his side’s fight and refused to accept that Manchester City are one level down.

When asked about his boys, Lampard was confident. “The levels they have reached have been incredible. For us to be in that position, I am pleased with,” Lampard said at Cobham. “But I want more. It’s not the end story, they are a strong outfit.

I won’t make huge judgements on tomorrow, our story is three months in the making.

When asked about City, who have suffered 3 defeats in 12 games this season, Lampard refused to look down on the defending Premier League champions.

“I see them with the same strength. They have had their issues with injury problems.”

“Yes, in a way,” Lampard responded to whether he can judge Chelsea’s start to the season after the game at the Etihad.

“We went pound for pound with Liverpool, the so called tougher games we have performed well without the results.”

City take on Chelsea tonight in a top four clash. The Blues are tied on second place while City’s 3-1 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield has pushed them a little far away from contention for the title.
