Frank Lampard has hailed four-goal hero Olivier Giroud.
Chelsea ran rampant in Spain as they beat Sevilla 4-0 on the night. The fixture has essentially decided that Chelsea will be topping their group in the Champions League group stages.
Lampard played his second team on the night and Olivier Giroud finally got a start for the Blues, The veteran striker took full advantage of the situation by scoring 4 goals in the 4-0 thrashing.
A left footed curler, a right footed chip, a powerful glancing header, and a penalty – Giroud could not have painted the night any better and his coach Frank was left amazed.
“Four goals at this level, and the quality of the goals,” Lampard said. “Individual aspects from Oli himself. Team aspects from back to front. An amazing solo performance, he deserves all the accolades.
“I’m delighted with him, I’m delighted with the team, to come here against a very strong Sevilla team, our team performance was great, it had everything.
“Oli is reliable full stop, he’s up there with the great French individuals. Everyone is delighted for him, because of how he trains and how he is.
“Leeds is a tight turnaround so I’ll have to see, but it’s four goals in a game [flashes smile], he was really top class.”
