Kepa Future At Chelsea In Complete Jeopardy As Real Madrid Chase Begins

Lately Kepa’s future at Chelsea has been discussed as being weak and the fact that Real Madrid are now chasing him, puts his future with the Blues at jeopardy.

Chelsea’s goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is being highly sought after by La Liga giants Real Madrid, who want to acquire him by this summer.

In turn, the Blues will get a chance to sign Barcelona’s goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen to replace Kepa.

Kepa’s performance this season has been sub-par this season, considering the hefty 71.6 million pounds fee the Blues paid for the most expensive goalkeeper in the world. He is also currently the highest-paid Chelsea player and now Frank Lampard is desperately looking to recover the cash the Blues spent on him.

Lampard had been using Willy Cabarello to sub in for Kepa in several matches. However, Kepa has played in the last two matches. His performance was absolutely stellar, however, during the Chelsea v Liverpool FA Cup clash, where the Spanish goalkeeper made 3 saves – back to back.

However, now Real Madrid are greatly interested in the Chelsea goalkeeper and the Blues have also listed out their top goalkeeper replacement target – Ter Stegen, who has made 224 appearances for Barca so far, winning four La Liga titles and the Champions League.

It is rumoured that Kepa will be made to exit by the end of the season – which is really not far off. Real Madrid are already working out a bid for the Spaniard.

It’s really a gamble now – whether Kepa will be able to keep up his form in all the matches from now on. Some say that his low dip was due to his breakup with his girlfriend last year.
