Kepa Arrizabalaga revealed that he is not afraid anymore at Chelsea.
Since Thomas Tuchel has come in, the Spaniard has enjoyed more minutes than he did under Frank Lampard this season.
He has endured a tough couple of seasons, coming under heavy criticism and was dropped behind Edouard Mendy in the pecking order. However, under Tuchel, he made his first league start in quite some time against Newcastle United.
Kepa said, “It has been a complicated year for a number of reasons. But I have never thought about leaving Chelsea.”
The 26-year-old was dropped from the starting line up at the beginning of this campaign itself. He was linked with a move out of Stamford Bridge but the Chelea backroom staff found no suitors to match his value.
He continued, “I did not have any problems with Lampard. It’s true that I did not give the best version of myself or play as I would have wanted. But we never had any issue.”
Kepa is now optimistic about his chances in the new regime. He said, “I hope to play more and I am no longer afraid and want to play an important part for Chelsea.”
