Chelsea were already an injury plagued side when they took on Manchester United earlier this week.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Tammy Abraham – the list was long and nice. And a few minutes after Chelsea’s kick off against Manchester United, N’Golo Kante limped off the pitch.
After the match Lampard seemed worried.
“It doesn’t look great at the minute,” he said. “I don’t know that yet for sure. I wouldn’t want to give you that information. I know it’s the same leg, so it’s similar.”
Kante has had a disruptive season with multiple injuries plaguing him so far. So the midfielder has now gone off again and it is worrying sign for the Blues.
There has been no official word from Lampard on Kante’s length of injury but reports in and around the Bridge are claiming that the French World Cup winner is set to miss a few matches at least.
The biggest worry for Chelsea is that they have Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Bayern Munich in the next few weeks and Kante is probably out for all the matches.
Lampard will be a worried man and Chelsea will want to know now how they can deal without their primary defensive midfielder.
