Kalidou Koulibaly believes Frank Lampard could make changes in the fortunes at Chelsea.

The Blues have re-appointed Frank Lampard as the caretaker manager until the end of the season.

Todd Boehly decided to give Chelsea’s most decorated player a second chance as a manager.

However, Lampard had a poor start losing 1-0 to Wolves after deciding to play a four-man back squad.

They will face Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final which will be their most important fixture of the season.

Koulibaly believes Lampard’s status as a club legend could work in his favour.

He told BBC Sport: “We know he is a legend here and he has already trained half of the team.

“The situation is like this for the moment, but in training he has been saying he will support us until the end and help us to be out of this situation.

“We know it is a difficult situation for everybody, including the club, manager and supporters, but we will give everything to get out of this and make them happy. Our first objective is to win the games and make our supporters happy.”
