Although it may take some time, Juventus is planning to sign Chelsea defender Renato Veiga for the second time this season. Although he paid £12 million to join the Blues from FC Basel last summer, the Portuguese defender was unable to establish himself as a consistent starter at Enzo Marseca’s court. He was therefore permitted to sign a dry loan with the Bianconeri in January of last year.
The teenage player quickly became an important member of Thiago Motta’s squad and quickly became close to the black-and-white supporters. When Igor Tudor arrived, he was similarly placed in the center of the three-man backline.
Despite his outstanding performances in Turin, Veiga is still deemed surplus to needs at Chelsea and returned to West London when his loan period ended. Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid, two of Europe’s top clubs, have been connected to the Portugal international. But his departure has not yet occurred.
Juventus plan to re-sign Renato Veiga
Juventus has recently come back into the spotlight as a potential destination since the Serie A powerhouses are eager to get him back again with Tudor, who was quite pleased with his efforts the previous season.
It should be mentioned that last season, Veiga was one of three players to sign dry loans to Juventus. The team has already reached a fresh agreement with Porto to retain Francisco Conceicao permanently, and they are attempting to do the same with Randal Kolo Muani, a PSG exile. Therefore, it shouldn’t be shocking that the club is showing renewed interest in Veiga.
The Italian powerhouses will try to take advantage of Chelsea’s desperate attempt to get rid of the deadwood at the end of the summer transfer season in order to make a move for Veiga, according to La Nazione via TuttoJuve. The Premier League powerhouses will be eager to offload as many players as possible before the deadline since they have a large roster.
Unlike Veiga, Lloyd Kelly hasn’t made much of an impression since joining in January; therefore, Juventus will be looking to let him go to create a place for a new player.
