Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly making a determined push to secure the services of Chelsea forward Joao Felix during the January transfer window.
Mourinho eyes reunion with Joao Felix as Fenerbahce plot ambitious move

According to Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo, the Portuguese star is edging closer to leaving Stamford Bridge after struggling to cement his place in Chelsea’s starting lineup.
Felix initially joined Chelsea on loan from Atletico Madrid in January 2023, impressing with flashes of brilliance despite scoring just four goals in 20 appearances.
Chelsea showed faith in the 25-year-old by making his move permanent last summer for £46 million, but his time in London has been far from smooth.
The versatile forward, capable of playing centrally or on the left wing, has managed seven goals and two assists in 19 appearances this season.
However, he has primarily featured in cup competitions, with the likes of Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku ahead of him in Enzo Maresca’s pecking order.
Felix’s limited opportunities have reportedly left him “uncomfortable” and considering a mid-season departure.
Mourinho’s Fenerbahce has emerged as the frontrunner for Felix’s signature. Reports suggest the experienced coach has personally reached out to Felix, attempting to persuade him to join the Turkish giants.
Fenerbahce is said to be exploring an initial loan deal until the end of the season, which could potentially turn into a permanent transfer if the move proves successful.
A change of scenery could be just what Felix needs to reignite his career. The former Atletico Madrid man, who was signed for a staggering £113 million in 2019, has struggled to live up to his hefty price tag.
However, his technical prowess and creative spark remain undeniable, qualities that Mourinho hopes to harness in Fenerbahce’s push for trophies.
Currently second in the Turkish Super Lig and battling in the Europa League, Fenerbahce sees Felix as the missing piece in their bid to challenge rivals Galatasaray and bolster their European campaign.
For Felix, the opportunity to work under Mourinho, one of football’s most decorated managers could be the perfect catalyst for a fresh start.
