Jose Mourinho eyes return to management amid Chelsea links

Jose Mourinho, the former manager of AS Roma, is making plans to return to the sidelines after his departure from the Italian club.

According to reports, the 61-year-old is thinking about a return to Chelsea, as uncertainty about Mauricio Pochettino’s future at the club grows.

Mourinho, who was fired by Roma in January, expressed his willingness to return to management at the earliest possible time, expressing his desire to take on the proper role.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:

“Roma was great because we did two European finals in two years and that’s hard in a club that never did it, but now I have to wait for the right opportunity.

I want to work tomorrow if possible, but I don’t want to make the wrong decision.”

Despite his difficult time at Roma, Mourinho’s successes, especially winning the club’s first European championship in nearly six decades, have improved his reputation.

With Chelsea underperforming in the Premier League and losing the Carabao Cup final, Pochettino’s job is under issue.

Mourinho’s strong track record and recent exploits at Roma make him an appealing option for the Blues if they decide to change managers.

After having mixed fortunes at Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United, Mourinho is keen to prove himself once more at a top-tier team.

While Mourinho’s chances of returning to Chelsea remain uncertain, his unrelenting drive implies that his managing career is far from done.
