Jorginho yet to discuss his contract extension with Chelsea.

The Italian midfielder who is out of contract in the summer of 2023 has established a pivotal role in Chelsea’s midfield in the last two seasons.

He played a crucial role under Thomas Tuchel in last year’s Champions League success.

There have been rumours that the 30-year old midfielder would be keen to make a move back to Serie A in the near future.

It appears that Chelsea is struggling to extend his contract and Jorginho could make a move next summer window.

‘We still have a year and a half on the contract,’ Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, told TMW.

‘There has been no talk of renewal, maybe we will do it later.’

‘Jorginho came behind Messi and Lewandowski, two incredible top players,’ he added.

‘Finishing in front of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and many other champions is certainly not devoid of pride and satisfaction for the work done.

‘I would have given it to Lewandowski, I thought he would win.

‘But Messi had already won the award six times, his global career has been evaluated and not just over the last year. He is an indisputable player.’
