Former Chelsea captain John Terry has offered his tactical assessment ahead of this weekend’s Premier League showdown, revealing how the Blues can hurt the league champions at the Emirates Stadium.

“Down the Channels”: Terry Reveals Chelsea’s Blueprint to Beat Arsenal

Despite acknowledging Arsenal’s status as the best team in the division and favourites for the clash, Terry believes Chelsea possess the firepower to cause problems for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The legendary defender identified the flanks as Chelsea’s primary route to success against the Gunners.

Terry highlighted the pace and creativity of Neto, Estevao, and Morgan Rogers as crucial weapons in Chelsea’s attacking arsenal.

“Down the channels and down the outside, where I think we’re really strong in terms of Neto, Estevao and Morgan Rogers down that side as well, I think is going to be real key for me,” Terry explained.

The former England international believes Arsenal’s centre-backs become vulnerable when dragged into wider positions, creating gaps that Chelsea can exploit on the counter-attack.

Terry pointed to the attacking tendencies of Ben White and Riccardo Calafiori as potential defensive vulnerabilities.

Both full-backs frequently push forward into advanced positions, leaving spaces behind that Chelsea’s wingers can target.

“As soon as you get pulled into those wide areas, it feels very alien and you feel a little bit more exposed,” Terry noted.

“The more we can do that on the counter-attack at the weekend, I think we give ourselves a chance.”

While Chelsea have started the season strongly alongside their London rivals, Terry stopped short of predicting victory.

The former defender knows Arsenal’s quality and championship pedigree, but he refuses to dismiss Chelsea’s chances entirely.

This weekend’s encounter promises to be a fascinating tactical battle, with Terry’s analysis suggesting that Xabi Alonso’s side can hurt the champions if they execute their counter-attacking game plan effectively.

Both teams enter the fixture with perfect records, setting the stage for an intriguing early-season title clash at the Emirates.
