Joao Pedro received more than 60% of the votes in an online survey, and Chelsea has revealed that he has been named the team’s Player of the Season. Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo, two midfielders who finished second and third, respectively, were easily surpassed by the Brazilian attacker.

Joao Pedro’s effect at Stamford Bridge has been substantial since his £60 million transfer from Brighton last summer, despite his lack of international recognition. Along with players like Cole Palmer, Diego Costa, and Eden Hazard, he is now the sixth player in Chelsea history to have 20 Premier League goal involvements in a rookie season.
