Barcelona have received a major boost in their pursuit of Chelsea forward Joao Pedro, with reports claiming the Brazilian has already agreed to join the La Liga champions this summer.

Joao Pedro ‘Agrees’ to Join Barcelona But Chelsea Refuse to Sell

Spanish newspaper AS reports that Pedro has given his green light to a move to the Camp Nou.

However, the transfer depends entirely on whether Barcelona can convince Chelsea to sell their star player.

Chelsea endured a terrible campaign, finishing tenth in the Premier League and missing out on European qualification entirely.

The club sacked both Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior before appointing Calum McFarlane as interim head coach until the end of the season.

Despite the team’s struggles, Pedro shone brightly. The Brazilian international scored 23 goals and provided six assists in 53 matches across all competitions.

Barcelona have refused to increase their €100m (£86m) offer for Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez. With negotiations at a standstill, the Catalan giants now view Pedro as their primary alternative.

But Chelsea show no intention of letting their star forward leave. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirms the Blues see Pedro as a “crucial part of the project” for next season.

“Chelsea message remains Joao Pedro is a crucial part of the project,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.

Fellow journalist Ben Jacobs went even further. He claims Chelsea would reject any bid for the 23-year-old, even a world-record offer.

“There is no price that will change the club’s stance this summer, even a world-record bid,” Jacobs wrote on X.

With ambitious new coach Xabi Alonso set to take over, Chelsea want to keep their best players.

Pedro’s future now hangs on whether Barcelona can somehow break down the Blues’ stubborn resistance.
