Joao Felix has revealed why he enjoys being a part of the Chelsea team and has hinted that he would like to remain past the season’s end
The Portugal international was benched by Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid and is now on loan at Stamford Bridge until the conclusion of the current campaign. Although Felix has made some standout contributions for Chelsea, he has only scored once in his first six games.
Los Rojiblancos decided to exercise the opportunity to extend his contract by an additional year prior to moving to the Premier League, keeping him under contract in Madrid until 2027. The 23-year-old was questioned about his destiny before his Champions League matchup against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
“I believe nobody can predict the future. Now, all of my attention is on the contest tomorrow. We don’t know what will happen after that,” he informed the media.
Felix talked openly about the contrasts between Spanish and English football and admitted he enjoys the freedom to express himself on the field.
‘The league is distinct, and it’s a different kind of football,’ he said. ‘The clubs play completely differently in La Liga and the Premier League. Chelsea is a squad that enjoys attacking, controlling the ball, and winning games. That is the game that I enjoy playing. I feel very liberated to play here however I want. I adore it.’
