Jamie Redknapp has labelled Chelsea star Moises Caicedo as a “world-class” player following the Blues’ vital 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Premier League.

Moises Caicedo Shines Again: Jamie Redknapp Calls Chelsea Star ‘World-Class’

Enzo Maresca’s side edged a nervy contest at Stamford Bridge on Friday night thanks to a second-half header from Marc Cucurella.

The result keeps Chelsea firmly in the race for Champions League qualification, moving them up to fourth in the table ahead of a decisive final-day clash against Nottingham Forest.

While Cucurella rightly received plaudits for his impressive performance—capping off a remarkable turnaround in form—Redknapp reserved his highest praise for Caicedo, who once again ran the show in midfield.

Speaking on Sky Sports Premier League, Redknapp said, “You look at Caicedo now, and he looks like a world-class player.

When he first came in, he struggled. The team lacked confidence, and it was hard for him to settle. But now, he’s absolutely dominating games.”

Against United, the 23-year-old Ecuadorian was at the heart of everything.

According to Squawka, Caicedo led the match in several key areas, including most passes in the final third (21), most possessions won (12), most duels won (8), and most tackles (4).

It was yet another display that reinforced why he was recently named Chelsea’s Player of the Season.

Notably, Caicedo has started every Premier League match this season—37 out of 37—and is expected to complete the full set in the final fixture at the City Ground next Sunday.

His consistency, tenacity, and tactical intelligence have made him indispensable for Maresca.

Teammate Cole Palmer summed it up best when he said it’s a “dream” to play alongside the midfield dynamo.

With Champions League football now just one win away, Chelsea fans will be hoping Caicedo can deliver one more masterclass to guide them over the finish line. On current form, few would bet against him.
