Chelsea have confirmed that Antonio Rudiger will be out for the season.

The Blues defender first limped out of the match versus Liverpool a few weeks back. He had to be replaced by Andreas Christensen.

However, the injury seemed to be less serious and he was back in training withing a few days and was ready to face Manchester United.

The player started in the playing eleven at Old Trafford against the Red Devils. However, he suffered an injury on his knee which saw him limp out during the match for a second straight match he was playing, once again bringing in the young Danish defender Andreas Christensen on the pitch.

Chelsea have now confirmed that the Blues defender Antonio Rudiger will be out for the rest of the season.

The Blues have a few important matches coming up in this month. They have two matches against Frankfurt in the Europa League winning which will be of priority since without that the Blues will have only one way of making the Champions League.

Without Rudiger, they will have Christensen, Luiz and Cahill and Sarri will have to rotate his options carefully.
