Chelsea are set to win the battle to retain their prized youth possession in Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The young winger who is still in his teens has been subjected to great interested and speculation from Bayern Munich. The German giants need to replace their legendary Frank Ribery and Arjen Robben duo and scouted Hudson-Odoi as a potential star in the making.

However, Chelsea also played hardball with Bayern last season as they turned down multiple bids from the Bavarian club. It is now being believed that Bayern Munich may have lost the battle as the winger is seemingly close to signing a new five year deal at the club worth £100,000 a week.

The move is believed to be encouraged by the fact that Frank Lampard has shown great interest in building a team around the youngster.  The manager previously said of Hudson-Odoi: “I am not going to say things that are pie in the sky but, with his talent, he can be central to this team, he can be central to England.

“He can show, right here at Chelsea, the team he came through the academy at, that he is going to be a world-class player – because I truly believe that.”
