How Pedro Leon's Chelsea move was blocked by a Blues boss

Former Real Madrid winger and current La Liga player Pedro Leon has made sensational claims about Jose Mourinho and Chelsea.

Mourinho had the winger at Chelsea as a young player. Given so many stars were already playing at Real, Leon did not get too many chances in the first team. As the season wore on, the Spanish player grew frustrated at the Spanish capital and wanted a move away.

It is claimed Chelsea were interested in signing him in the January transfer window of 2012, the year after he signed for Real. However, Jose Mourinho refused to let him go.

“I had offers from City, Chelsea and Milan,” Leon told Onda Cero.

“Some wanted to sign me in the winter but Mourinho didn’t let me go.”

‘These are circumstances that could have been avoided,’ said Leon. ‘But I was not the only one to blame.’

Mourinho  when he had been asked about the player’s lack of chances, had replied: “You talk of Pedro Leon as if he was Zidane or Maradona or Di Stefano, he’s a player who not long ago was playing at Getafe.

“He’s not called up for one game and it seems like you are talking about a great player.

“When he works how I want him to, he will play, and when he doesn’t, it will be harder for him to play.”
