Another season of football has ended and with honours almost all but given out, it is time for the off season.
This will be the three months when the stars who have worked their socks off will rest and replenish themsleves for a new season of football. Some in new jerseys.
Yes this is also the beginning of the transfer season. The summer where crazy things happen, as has been in testimony over the last few years. Some transfers themselves are crazy while others set into motion a domino effect.
Let us look at one such possibility. It is wide knowledge that Chelsea are resolute to hold on to Hazard from joining Real Madrid because of a lack of talisman in their team. Now as reports would have it, it seems Barcelona of all teams could be the team set to help Real Madrid get their man.
FC Barcelona are targeting Antoine Griezmann and with the Frenchman having decided to leave Atletico, it would mean Barcelona are in the driving seat for the Frenchman. This would certainly draw curtains on Coutinho’s Barcelona future and the Brazilian could fancy a move back to England with Chelsea very keen on him to replace Hazard.
If that does happen, we could actually see Hazard turn out in all white next season.
And Ornstein told BBC Sport: “If Coutinho is moved on, I’m hearing a potential destination is Chelsea. The 26-year-old would be among the contenders to replace Eden Hazard – should the Belgian move to Real Madrid.”
