Hakim Ziyech has unfinished business with Ajax even after tying down a £40m switch to Chelsea on Thursday afternoon.
With the January transfer window close, the Moroccan international will only be allowed to leave Ajax at the end of this season, allowing him a small farewell tour after four years with the Eredevisie side.
Ziyech will be the first signing for Chelsea under Frank Lampard. So far, the 41-year-old has done well with the resources present at the club, utilizing the youth products to fully build up a promising first team of next generation talents.
Ziyech at 26 will bring in the much-needed experience and maturity that this Chelsea side has been calling out for in attack. His left-footed wizardry was noted by many across the past two seasons as Ajax made deep runs into the Champions League. Ziyech likes to play out from the flank but is more of a creative midfielder.
His range of passing and vision will be key in efficiently churning out goals in Lampard’s highly offensive system. With Ziyech arriving, this will definitely mean the end of either Pedro or Willian’s stay at Stamford Bridge. Both veterans are in the final months of their contracts and could add some value to other teams.
