Four players who have withdrawn from international service will be welcomed back to Chelsea’s Cobham training camp. The Chelsea team split up for the November international break after their Premier League draw with Arsenal, during which time many Blues players received call-ups. Wesley Fofana was selected for the France senior team and Malo Gusto was selected for the Under-21 team.

In addition to teammate Noni Madueke, interim England manager Lee Carsley selected Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer. However, after leaving their separate camps to return to Chelsea, Fofana, Gusto, Colwill, and Palmer will not be playing for their nations this month.

Chelsea quartet have withdrawn from international duty

A player would only ever be removed from international duty by the Blues for their own football safety. This is thought to be the most logical choice, and London is aware of Fofana’s injury history from recent seasons. The timing of Lavia’s injury update is perfect for Chelsea, since several of their players have withdrawn from international service, raising fears of an injury problem.

Along with English players Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill, Frenchman Malo Gusto was the most recent Chelsea player to leave international duty this week. Jadon Sancho has been sidelined for recent games owing to illness and injuries, while Wesley Fofana also withdrew from the France team. On November 23, Chelsea will return to play when they travel to Leicester City in the Premier League.
