According to 90min, the former Brighton manager is hopeful of securing a reunion with the 27-year-old. Both have worked together.

The new Chelsea manager was utilising Trossard in a number of roles. In his final weeks, he was optimising the Belgian in a wing-back role.

Trossard recently scored a hat-trick at Anfield to surprise Liverpool and rescue a point for the Seagulls.

90min have also added that Potter would like to bring Trossard in as his first big signing since taking the reins at Stamford Bridge.
