Giroud encouraged to make Chelsea exit

Olivier Giroud’s Chelsea career has come to a screeching halt.

The Frenchman was signed from Arsenal as a last minute back-up buy for Antonio Conte back in 2018.

He has however since proved to be a smart signing for the Blues. Chelsea won the Europa League the following season and Giroud proved to be the difference there.

He was the top scorer in the Europa League. However, he never quite managed to become the starting forward in the league under Sarri and Lampard has now followed the same route.

In light of such events, Giroud’s chances of playing has gone down and his national team coach Didier Deschamps has asked the player to get a transfer to some other team.

“Olivier Giroud, like others, may have to move,” L’Equipe reported Deschamps as saying. “His situation at Chelsea has not changed for two months. It would be better for him, of course, to go to a club where he will have more playing time.

“If he cannot have this playing time at Chelsea, the idea is to be able to have it elsewhere. It will be his decision. But I don’t know the solutions he has, the possibilities he has to have more playing time.”
