Chelsea still are not on the same level as Liverpool and Manchester City.
The Blues are currently leading the Premier League table and are the favourites to win the title this season.
They brought in former Inter Milan forward Romelu Lukaku for £98million to bolster their attacking options.
Thomas Tuchel has led this team to Champions League glory last season and is expected to do the same this year.
Former Reds and German midfielder Dietmar Hamann believes that third place will be the best finish for Chelsea this season.
“I don’t think they are on the same level as Liverpool and Manchester City,” Hamann told Goal (via Sport Witness).
“You can win the Champions League if you don’t have the best team. But the championship you can’t. That’s why third place would be the highest of feelings for Chelsea.
“Thomas Tuchel also benefitted in the final from the madness Pep Guardiola put on, playing without a defensive midfielder.
“But they were 25 (editor’s note: it was 19) points behind Manchester City in the league last season and have also been taught a lesson by them recently.”
