Marc Cucurella has been impressive under Mauricio Pochettino

After Marc Cucurella’s performance for Spain against Croatia, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville was left looking shocked. While Spain’s offensive prowess took centre stage in their first Euro 2024 triumph, the Chelsea full-back did not steal the show, but his performance was a fitting reaction to Neville’s pre-match analysis. On Saturday afternoon, goals from Dani Carvajal, Fabian Ruiz, and Alvaro Morata gave the European giants three points.

After receiving harsh criticism in his first season with the Blues, the left-back had a highly uneven tenure. However, under Mauricio Pochettino, his play greatly improved in the 2023–24 campaign. Due to Chelsea’s defensive line injuries, Cucurella played right back when needed and had his job switched to midfield towards the end of the season, which he did rather well.

Gary Neville Believes Chelsea’s Spanish Star Will Stop Them Winning Euro 2024

Gary Neville attacked Marc Cucurella on ITV prior to Spain’s opening Euro 2024 match against Croatia. Cucurella has played a few games towards the conclusion of the season, but Neville stated that. At Chelsea, he hasn’t made an impression. Neville claims, “That price tag still astounds everybody, I think, still to this day.” He is a busy little fullback who is combative and tenacious.

Cucurella will not perform well for Spain at the Euros, according to the former Manchester United defender. The truth is far from what Neville claims to be. Putting on a masterful display, Cucurella began Spain’s opening Euro match.
