Gary Neville back Chelsea to win Premier League title

Gary Neville stabbed Chelsea following their dreadful 3-0 loss to Brighton on Friday night. Enzo Maresca’s team had a memorable evening as their hold on a top-four spot in the Premier League weakened.

Chelsea has lost to Brighton twice in a week after losing to the Seagulls in the FA Cup last Saturday, and they have only won three of their past eleven games in all competitions. Six weeks ago, the team appeared poised to fight for the Premier League crown, but their current form has undergone a dramatic change.

Additionally, one Chelsea player whose recent performances have worried Gary Neville was singled out. During the build-up to Brighton’s third goal (and Yankuba Minteh’s second), Levi Colwill allowed Danny Welbeck to take possession of the ball and fell to the ground.

Neville believes that this particular instance encapsulates the 21-year-old’s performance for the past month or so. Neville told Sky Sports, “Colwill needs to get stronger.” In the games I’ve seen lately, he gets overpowered rather easily. He has been bullied on that channel in three of the games I’ve watched.

Gary Neville says Chelsea star must ‘get stronger’ after Brighton defeat

It was a concerning performance since it appeared as though they would let up a lot of goals and fail to score. After critiquing Filip Jorgensen’s performance in goal, Neville focused on Chelsea defender Colwill, who had a memorable night on the south coast.

The former right-back for Manchester United and England stated, “Colwill needs to get stronger.” In games that I’ve lately watched, he gets overpowered rather easily. He has been harassed in that channel in two or three of the games I’ve watched lately.

Furthermore, Brighton’s second goal was a terrible one for him since he gave the ball away. Then, however, he sits on the ground, looks around, and looks. Two or three seconds are spent on the ground by him.It is necessary for them to become more physically strong and aggressive.

“That’s difficult when you’re a young center-half who may not have reached your full potential yet, but he’s learning on the job, and it’s hard work for him right now.” The former England and Liverpool defender remarked, “He seems like he needs to fill out and get a good meal down him.”
