Frenkie de Jong is not keen on a switch to Old Trafford.

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is planning to prefer Chelsea over Manchester United this summer. Barcelona president Joan Laporta has also told Chelsea they can sign the Dutchman.

CBS Sports reports the North London club have been told that De Jong is available by Laporta. The Barcelona president has even ‘encouraged’ the Blues to make a bid for the 25-year-old attacker.

Chelsea are in De Jong, but after watching the midfield publicly quash talk of a move to Manchester United, they are adamant they will not make a formal move until they can gauge whether or not the former Ajax man would be seriously interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.

Barcelona and United have agreed a financial package worth €85m for De Jong, but it remains to be seen if the playmaker and United will be able to come to an agreement on terms to close the deal.

Frenkie de Jong has not closed the doors on a potential switch to Chelsea this summer transfer window, according to Sport (h/t Metro).

Manchester United are said to have an agreement in place for De Jong with the Spanish giants but he is not keen on a switch to Old Trafford.
