Frank Leboeuf Urges Chelsea to Re-sign N’Golo Kante This Summer

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has called on the club to bring back midfield dynamo N’Golo Kante this summer. Kante, currently at Al-Ittihad, has drawn interest from West Ham United, who have already seen one bid rejected.

Speaking passionately on ESPN, Leboeuf expressed his desire to see Kante back at Stamford Bridge.

“When I saw the article, I thought, why don’t Chelsea call him back? He belongs at Chelsea. We don’t want to see him at West Ham.

With all due respect, if West Ham can get him, it’s a great catch because he proved during the Euros that he’s still at the top.”

Kante’s impressive performances at Euro 2024 earned him a high rating on WhoScored, making him one of France’s standout players. His form at Al-Ittihad also led to a recall to the French national team.

Despite Leboeuf’s enthusiasm, a return to Chelsea seems unlikely. Chelsea’s new manager Enzo Maresca has a wealth of midfield options, including Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, and summer signing Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Additionally, Chelsea’s ownership under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital is not expected to approve a move for the 33-year-old, especially considering his injury history.

Leboeuf’s plea resonates with many Chelsea fans who remember Kante’s tireless performances and key contributions during his time at the club.

However, with the club looking forward, a reunion with the beloved midfielder seems more like a dream than a realistic possibility.
