Frank Leboeuf and Craig Burley acknowledged Christian Pulisic after The Blues beat Manchester City.
The USA international joined Chelsea FC from Borussia Dortmund last summer and has made a solid start to life in England.
Former Chelsea legends, Frank Leboeuf and Craig Burley were impressed when Pulisic netted the opening goal for Chelsea.
‘Every time I see him play he improves and I’m pretty sure he can still progress more’, Leboeuf told ESPN FC.
‘Pulisic was so clever, so fast. It was a fantastic goal, a beauty. He was fantastic.’
Burley added: ‘Chelsea have been really exciting this season and I think that will give the fans big hope for next season, particularly with the signings of Ziyech and Werner.
‘Chelsea were excellent against City. Pulisic deserved his start and was brilliant. He could have had another goal but he was excellent.’
Chelsea manager Lampard also praised Pulisic after he continued his good form telling reporters: ‘Christian came in last summer. Lot of talk about it.
‘He didn’t really get a break when he got in the team. He was playing really well and gets a really tough injury. ‘I wanted to protect him a bit against Villa, see that he could make an impact. He did that.’
Chelsea, who are now five points ahead of fifth-placed Manchester United in the Premier League, face Leicester City on Sunday.
