Former Liverpool star Michael Owen has praised Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri for his impact at the club. Owen thinks that Sarri’s attack-oriented game has changed the way Chelsea generally approach their football.
Sarri joined Chelsea a day after the sacking of compatriot Antonio Conte. Ever since joining the club, his philosophy has garnered a lot of acclaim. Sarri’s first match with Chelsea ended in a loss to Manchester City in the Community Shield.
However, the Blues have won all Premier League matches so far and are second in the Premier League table. Many of Chelsea’s players have expressed their delight in playing under the former Napoli manager.
Writing a column for betting site BetVictor, Owen heaped praise on the Italian. The former Liverpool star said, “Maurizio Sarri is certainly changing the way Chelsea approach their football and his refreshing attacking attitude is already making him a fans’ favourite at the Bridge.
Indeed, Chelsea have attempted and completed more passes than any other side in the Premier League so far this season.
Having missed out on a Champions League spot last season, Chelsea have a very strong chance of finishing in the top four this season.
The Blues play their next match against Cardiff City tomorrow.
