Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has revealed his ambitious plan to one day manage the Blues, outlining a dream to coach every club he played for during his storied career.
“When I Become a Coach”: Thiago Silva Eyes Chelsea Return

The 41-year-old Brazilian legend, currently with Fluminense, confirmed his intention to move into management upon retiring.
“When I become a coach, I’ve set myself a goal: To coach all the teams where I have played,” Silva stated in an interview with L’Equipe.
This vision would see the former centre-back target the Stamford Bridge dugout, having forged a deep connection with Chelsea.
He joined the club on a free transfer in 2020 at age 36 and defied expectations, becoming a pivotal leader.
Silva played a crucial role in Chelsea’s Champions League triumph in his first season, later adding the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup to his honours.
Despite his influential presence, the club did not renew his contract in 2024, prompting an emotional departure.
His bond with Chelsea remains strong, further cemented by his son Isago recently signing a scholarship with the academy.
Former teammates attest to Silva’s natural coaching qualities. Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah highlighted Silva’s mentorship, noting his exceptional game reading and dedication to recovery.
Chalobah emphasised that Silva freely shared his vast experience with younger players, preparing them for top-level performance.
Silva’s remarkable career also includes iconic spells at AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, where he captained the side and won 19 major trophies.
As he nears the end of his playing days, the football world now anticipates the start of his next chapter, with Chelsea firmly on his future managerial roadmap.
