Former Chelsea player questions club's move for Ousmane Dembele

Shaun Wright-Phillips has doubts over Ousmane Dembele transfer.

The Blues are expected to spend around £200m on new signings this summer with a centre-forward and a defender their utmost priority.

Romelu Lukaku is pushing for a move back to Inter Milan this transfer window.

Chelsea have recently been strongly linked with Robert Lewandowski,Jules Kounde and Ousmane Dembele.

Former Blues start Wright-Phillips doubts Dembele’s move to the Stamford Bridge.

‘Jules Kounde would be a good signing for Chelsea, he’s young and a very talented defender,’ Wright-Phillips told Genting Casino.

‘If Kounde does sign for Chelsea, he’ll have big boots to fill after Antonio Rudiger’s exit.

‘With Robert Lewandowski, he would be the perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku if Lukaku does leave.

He then added: ‘Ousmane Dembele is a fantastic footballer.

‘It’s just about whether his body can handle the physicality of the Premier League and if he can play a consistent run of games because he’s had so many injuries. If Chelsea can keep him fit then he’ll be a massive player for them.’
