Pochettino will now focus on the next major assignment of the FIFA World Cup which will be played in the USA, Canada and Mexico in 2026.
Former Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino finds a new job and the Argentine is officially the new USMNT manager, the federation announced on Tuesday.
U.S. Soccer parted ways with former coach Gregg Berhalter in July. They decided to sack him after a disappointing exit from Copa America Cup in summer.
The Stars and Stripes crashed out of the Copa América on home soil at the group stage. Pochettino was linked with a potential national team job. As per reports, he was heavily linked with England but he decided to join USA.
The 52-year-old coach previously managed Chelsea and got a surprise departure despite an eventful comeback by the Blues. They reached into the final of EFL Cup and also managed an European qualification.
Pochettino will now focus on next major assignment of FIFA World Cup which will be played in USA, Canada and ,Mexico in 2026. The Argentine is the second former Chelsea manager to take charge of a US national team in recent months. Emma Hayes took over as USWNT manager and led them to gold medal success at the Olympics.
