According to rumours, Flamengo, a Brazilian team, is attempting to take Chelsea starlet Deivid Washington on a loan, as the Blues search for a way to move forward with the striker. Although the transfer window has ended in many nations, there are still some that are open, and the Blues still need to find answers for a number of players even if they were able to move on before last Friday’s deadline.

Chelsea is hoping to find new homes for players like Washington, David Datro Fofana, and Angelo Gabriel, either temporarily or permanently. Washington was acquired by Chelsea from Santos in the summer, but he has only played 25 minutes of first team football for the squad. Instead, he has mostly played for the under-21 team, for which he has 11 goals in as many games.

It looked as though the Brazilian would go on loan to Championship team Hull, but that deal also fell through for lack of time. Flamengo is reportedly attempting to sign Washington on a loan, according to Brazilian publication Globo, suggesting that a solution may be on the horizon.

The striker posted a photo of himself in an airplane with the Brazilian flag on social media, which may have been an indication that a deal was imminent, but the article also states that Flamengo internally views the signing as challenging given Monday’s approaching deadline. Washington, who Chelsea can plainly see has talent, will be hoping the deal goes through since all he needs to do now is go play regular senior football and improve his skills.
