Romano stated unequivocally on his YouTube channel:Â “I think Jackson is leaving”, emphasizing that Newcastle United is one of several clubs monitoring the 24-year-old, though no bid has been submitted.
Newcastle and Aston Villa are reportedly leading the chase for Jackson. Villa’s interest could intensify if they sell Ollie Watkins, especially as Manchester United’s pursuit of Watkins has cooled following their move for Benjamin Sesko.
A switch to Villa would reunite Jackson with manager Unai Emery, whom he worked under at Villarreal. Sources indicate Jackson “would love to play under Emery again,” making Villa an appealing destination.
Jackson’s potential departure aligns with Chelsea’s aggressive squad overhaul.
The club recently confirmed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s £25 million move to Everton (potentially rising to £29 million), with Romano noting midfielders Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka are also set for permanent exits.
