Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has declared that striker Nicolas Jackson is poised to leave Chelsea this summer, despite the club receiving no formal offers yet.

Fabrizio Romano: Nicolas Jackson Set for Chelsea Exit as Summer Clear-Out Continues

Romano stated unequivocally on his YouTube channel: “I think Jackson is leaving”, emphasizing that Newcastle United is one of several clubs monitoring the 24-year-old, though no bid has been submitted.

Newcastle and Aston Villa are reportedly leading the chase for Jackson. Villa’s interest could intensify if they sell Ollie Watkins, especially as Manchester United’s pursuit of Watkins has cooled following their move for Benjamin Sesko.

A switch to Villa would reunite Jackson with manager Unai Emery, whom he worked under at Villarreal. Sources indicate Jackson “would love to play under Emery again,” making Villa an appealing destination.

Jackson’s potential departure aligns with Chelsea’s aggressive squad overhaul.

The club recently confirmed Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s £25 million move to Everton (potentially rising to £29 million), with Romano noting midfielders Lesley Ugochukwu and Carney Chukwuemeka are also set for permanent exits.

Young striker Marc Guiu completed a loan to Sunderland, further trimming the attack.

While Jackson’s Chelsea tenure had inconsistencies, his potential was acknowledged by pundits like Harry Redknapp, who labelled him a “very useful player” last season.

His exit, however, appears imminent as Chelsea prioritise both financial flexibility and tactical refinement under Enzo Maresca.

The Blues’ focus now shifts to securing high-profile targets like RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons and Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho.
