Chelsea’s season has taken a sharp turn since Christmas. What began as a promising campaign with the Blues in the title conversation has now devolved into a struggle just to secure a Champions League spot.

Fabrizio Romano Offers Update on Maresca’s Future at Chelsea

Amid mounting pressure and disappointing performances, particularly from star man Cole Palmer, questions have begun to surface about Enzo Maresca’s position at the club.

However, according to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Italian manager’s job is not under threat—at least for now.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano provided insight into Maresca’s current standing at Stamford Bridge, saying the Chelsea board still fully supports him.

“What I’m hearing is that Enzo Maresca is 100% involved in every single step of the process and the project at Chelsea,” Romano explained.

“He signed a long-term contract one year ago, and I don’t have any kind of message about Chelsea looking to change the coach.”

Despite the club’s notorious history of being quick to sack managers, Maresca appears to have more breathing room than his predecessors.

Fans can’t help but compare this situation to that of Mauricio Pochettino, who was shown the door last year—even after a strong finish to the season and solid rapport with the players.

Given Chelsea’s past decisions, many supporters are puzzled by the patience being shown. But for now, the message from inside the club is clear: Enzo Maresca is safe.

How long that safety lasts, however, will likely depend on whether he can turn things around—before it’s too late.
