Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a definitive update on Chelsea’s transfer dealings this summer, particularly concerning the future of Joao Felix.
AC Milan Won’t Buy Joao Felix – What’s Next for the Chelsea Star?
According to Romano, AC Milan will not be pursuing a permanent deal for Felix, who is currently on loan from Chelsea. Barring any unforeseen developments, Felix is set to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Romano elaborated that upon his return, Chelsea will assess their options regarding Felix.
Potential pathways include retaining him within their squad or exploring opportunities elsewhere, such as in Turkey, Saudi Arabia, or even a return to his former club, Benfica in Portugal.
Felix’s journey has been eventful; after an initial loan spell at Chelsea, he secured a permanent move to the club.
However, limited playing time under manager Enzo Maresca led to another loan, this time to AC Milan. During his tenure in Serie A, Felix aimed to showcase his abilities and reignite his career.
Chelsea’s transfer activities have been robust, with the club securing pre-deals for promising talents like Geovany Quenda from Sporting CP.
Quenda is set to officially join Chelsea in 2026, having chosen the Blues over other top European clubs.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Chelsea faces critical decisions regarding squad composition.
The club’s management will need to determine how Felix fits into their future plans and whether his return can bolster their attacking options or if a new arrangement would be more beneficial for both parties.
