Everton have reached an agreement to sign Chelsea winger Tyrique George in a deal that could rise to £24 million with add-ons.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Goodison Park, and the Toffees have now moved to make the move permanent after renegotiating the terms of the original option to buy.
Initially, the deal included a permanent purchase clause worth £25 million, but Everton have successfully restructured the agreement.
The Merseyside club will now pay an upfront fee of £18 million, with an additional £6 million in potential add-ons tied to European qualification and appearances.
Chelsea have also secured a 15% sell-on clause as part of the transfer, ensuring they will benefit from any future sale of the England Under-21 international.
George made 11 appearances during his loan spell at Everton, starting just once, but he clearly made a lasting impression on manager David Moyes.
At the end of the four-month loan, Moyes described the young winger as an “excellent boy with an excellent work-rate.”
The Chelsea academy graduate has been available for transfer for the past year.
He held talks with RB Leipzig last summer, and a £22 million move to Fulham collapsed on transfer deadline day in September 2025.
With the deal now subject to personal terms and a medical examination, George is set to become Everton’s second summer signing.
The club have already completed a £16 million deal, excluding add-ons, to bring Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough to Goodison Park.
Meanwhile, German attacking midfielder Merlin Rohl has made his loan move from SC Freiburg permanent after impressing during his spell on Merseyside last season.
The arrivals come as Everton prepare for life without experienced duo Idrissa Gana Gueye and Seamus Coleman, who both departed at the end of their contracts.
George’s move represents a significant investment in young talent for Everton as Moyes continues to reshape his squad ahead of the new campaign.
The winger will be hoping to build on his limited game time last season and establish himself as a key figure in the Everton attack.
